Biography
Consultant Urologist
Mr Shah qualified in 1972 from Leeds University Medical School and obtained FRCS in 1976. After training in Leeds, Nottingham, Cardiff, Newport, Norwich and London he was awarded the Higher Surgical Training Certificate in Urology in 1983. He became a Consultant Urologist in 1984 at St Peter’s Hospital in London and Senior Lecturer at University College London. He was appointed to the post of Urologist to the Spinal Cord Injuries centre at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in 1985. St Peter’s Hospital moved to the Middlesex Hospital in 1992 and then to UCLH in 2005 and has more recently moved to Westmoreland Street to a dedicated Urology Hospital
Mr Shah is currently an honorary consultant urological surgeon at the London Spinal Injuries Centre at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore. He also holds the post of Honorary Associate Professor at UCL.
He still acts as a mentor to his younger colleagues and continues with some NHS clinical work.

Mr Shah is a consultant urological surgeon in London who has his private practice at King Edward VII Hospital where he has been on the staff for more than 20 years. He is still involved in the management of patients in the NHS at the RNOH where he carries out out-patient clinics and supervises some operating lists
He has a long experience of managing the complex conditions that affect the urinary tract. He has been providing secondary and tertiary opinions for many years. His experience has encompassed many aspects of complex urinary tract conditions over the years but are now mostly confined to neuro-urology, prostatitis and providing a balanced second opinion when needed
